This was symbolic of the Menorah alight in the Holy place. On the day of Pentecost fire appeared on each member in the upper room. As the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Light and is the Light of God, He leads us into all light. We cannot enter His true rest / Shabbat if we don’t have the Holy Spirit, irrespective of how little work we do or don’t do on the Sabbath. Seven is God’s perfect number and symbolises rest. The Menorah, which is the lamp with seven oil burning lights that stood in the inner court of the ancient Hebrew Temple, is the symbol for the Holy Spirit or the seven Spirits of God. We can see this by looking at each of the Seven Spirits.ġ - The first one we see is the Spirit of the Lord Now there is only one Holy Spirit He manifests Himself in these seven main functions. If we count, we will find seven separate Spirits.
